Qualified persons are invited to apply to the City of Beaver Falls Civil Service Commission to take competitive examinations leading to eligibility for appointment as a Full-Time Patrolman in the City of Beaver Falls Police Department.
An application packet may be obtained beginning Thursday, November 5, 2020 at the City Building, second floor, 715 15th Street, Beaver Falls, PA 15010 between the hours of 8:30AM and 3:30PM, Monday through Friday, except legal holidays.
Completed applications must be returned by 3:30PM, Friday November 20, 2020 along with a $50.00 non-refundable application fee payable to the City of Beaver Falls. No applications will be accepted after 3:30PM, Friday November 20, 2020.
REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must be a U.S. Citizen, be a minimum of 21 years of age, must have successfully completed Pennsylvania Act 120 certification, including passing the final exam prior to submitting the application, required to live within twenty-five (25) air miles of the Beaver Falls City Building, have a high school diploma or GED, have at least one year experience part-time in law enforcement (or an Associate Degree or higher in Criminal Justice or a related field may substitute for the experience requirement), possess a valid Pennsylvania Motor Vehicle Driver’s License, and be physically and mentally fit to perform the full duties of a police officer as determined by the physical and psychological testing. Successful applicants must meet all other City of Beaver Falls Civil Service requirements.
Compensation includes a 2021 starting salary of $42,580 with a 4 year Patrolman rate of $62,941. Benefits include medical, life, vision and dental insurances, 3 weeks vacation and 3 personal days after one year probation, $800 yearly clothing allowance, sick and holiday bonuses, education compensation and reimbursements.
The physical agility and written test dates will be announced in the application packet.
